Just a small message to tell you all I love your Village. My cousin has lake front property there. I plan on retiring in about five years and making your village my new home. My question is. Why are some properties going for as little as 5000 and others going for 15,000with and increase in 2009 too 20,000? Also if you own a double lot do you pay twice the assoc fees. Thank you and have a Happy New Year Frank Houdek

With vacant lake front property values reaching a normal sale value of $100,000.00 it makes complete real estate market sense to raise off lake lot prices. This definitely helps in the home values for everyone currently owning a home and property in the village. It is time that the RRA started cashing in on all their property holdings that they have had to sit on after much diligence to retrieve them from nonpaying persons. It will take time for the entire market to adjust but it will. Frank, if you can buy a suitable building lot now for $5000.00 do so for in 5 years your prospects will be limited greatly. Thank you for showing interest in our great community.

Thank you for showing interest in our great community. I own a vacant property that I put up for sale at 15k to match the listing price for the RRA properties. I had a interested party that was willing to pay 12.5k pending a look at the property. I gave him info on the Lake including the Shores website. At some point, the potential buyer called the general manager's number. Shortly thereafter, I get an angry email from the potential buyer stating that he spoke to the general manager and that he could buy an RRA property for 5k and that I was trying to rip him off. If the RRA is going to have an asking price of 15k, representatives of the RRA shouldn't be telling people that they can buy for 5k. The proper response should have been "I have a list of available RRA properties at an asking price of 15k."

IF what you say is true (and I would never say one is ripping off another) it had to have happened long before the jump to $15,000 for RRA lots.
HOW IN THE WORLD could I be telling someone I can sell an RRA lot at $5,000 when the price had already officially been set at $15,000 by our Board of Directors?
FYI we are no longer selling lots at the RRA Office. Realtors have been assigned to our RRA-owned properties. WE DO have a list of "For Sale By Owner" that persons are welcome to.

I am glad to hear that RRA is serious about selling their properties for 15k. I cannot vouch for whether the potential buyer was telling me the truth. It is entirely possible that the potential buyer found some 5k lots on Remax or Hanna's website and concocted a story about about speaking with the general manager. Also, to clarify, the buyer said I was trying to rip him off, not the general manager. Hopefully, the offwater market takes off and we look back at the board's decision to raise lot prices as the catalyst.
